In a related context, Operation Sindoor was India's significant military operation in response to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. Initiated on May 7, this operation resulted in the elimination of over 100 terrorists linked to groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
Following the attack, Pakistan engaged in cross-border shelling along the Line of Control and in Jammu and Kashmir, along with attempted drone strikes in border areas. In retaliation, India executed a coordinated strike that targeted radar systems, communication hubs, and airfields at 11 airbases in Pakistan.
Subsequently, on May 10, both nations announced a mutual agreement to cease hostilities.
Due to the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, IPL 2025 faced a one-week suspension. Matches resumed on May 17 across six venues, with the final being postponed from May 25 to June 3.
